Crewbella
A verified marketplace for India's film & media industry — hire ID-checked crew in days, or run a ticketed event end-to-end, all from one app.

Hiring marketplace
Post a role or browse open leads by field, location, and budget. Apply in a tap or ask a question first, then move into direct in-app chat — no phone numbers shared. Verified profiles and reviews keep the marketplace scam-free.
Event hosting
Organizers can create and publish ticketed events, then run the entire lifecycle from one dashboard — ticket tiers, revenue, door check-in, payouts, and team access — with real-time analytics tracking everything from conversion funnels to top-performing cities.
App Foundation
Web & mobile apps, built from scratch
Built both the customer and organizer apps from scratch — now live on the Play Store, App Store, and web. Pitched and led the migration from the original Flutter app to React Native, trading short-term migration cost for faster shipping, richer UI, and long-term scalability — a call that shaped how the rest of the product got built.
Events
Organizer dashboard & event management
Designed and built Events end-to-end — the single biggest feature in Crewbella, turning it from a hiring marketplace into a full event operations platform. Organizers get a dashboard with revenue tracking, ticket sales, recent check-ins, and event performance at a glance, plus full event management: create/publish events, manage ticket tiers, track purchases and revenue, download detailed reports, and monitor recent orders and abandoned checkouts.
Analytics & funnel insights
Built the analytics layer covering revenue growth over time, ticket sales trends, retention (new vs. returning attendees), and top-performing cities, alongside event-level insights — ticket tier performance, page views, checkout-started vs. checkout-completed, customer breakdowns, and full conversion-funnel tracking.
Door-step check-in system
Built check-in supporting QR scanning, gallery-upload scanning, OTP verification, and manual overrides, backed by live attendee logs and verified/pending ticket tracking — so organizers can run the door with any device, connectivity, or ticket format.
Wallet & payouts
Built the organizer wallet — revenue shown after taxes and deductions, plus withdrawal management — giving organizers full financial transparency on every event.
Teams & permissions
Built role-based access control for organizer teams, with Admin, Manager, Marketing, Scanner, and other scoped roles, so teammates only see and do what their role allows.
Backend & Payments
Event-driven backend
Built the core backend for ticket purchases, refunds, payouts, event publishing, and team invitations using Node.js, BullMQ, Redis, and Azure Container Apps, structured as independently deployed background workers with asynchronous processing.
Payments & payouts pipeline
Engineered secure Razorpay webhook pipelines with signature verification and duplicate-event protection, and a payout workflow using Redis distributed locking, MongoDB transactions, idempotency keys, and reconciliation — preventing duplicate withdrawals under concurrent load.
Reliability & notifications
Designed a fault-tolerant job pipeline with retry queues, Dead Letter Queues, exponential backoff, and Redis-based idempotency, guaranteeing at-least-once delivery of tickets via WhatsApp and email.
Internal Tools
Internal CRM (founder-facing)
Built the internal CRM giving founders direct visibility into app-wide analytics — event tracking, growth, and payments — plus the ability to verify and approve organizations and events, and monitor customer growth, all from one place.
Email funnel inside the CRM
Owned a complete email funnel end-to-end — UX flow, database design, backend, and frontend — so organizers can email attendees, org members, or custom segments with a rich text editor, dynamic personalization fields (attendee name, event details), reusable templates, and scheduling or instant send. Built a dedicated Email Center where admins track delivery status per recipient and retry failed or suppressed sends from one dashboard, making event communication native to the CRM instead of relying on external email tools.
Organizer web app
Built a separate organizer web app giving organizers full feature parity with the mobile app from a browser, kept intentionally distinct from the customer-facing web platform.
Stack & Learnings

- Redis
- MongoDB
<Payments/>
- Razorpay
<Mobile/>
- React Native
- Expo
- Expo EAS
<Cloud / DevOps/>
- Azure Container Apps
- Azure Container Registry

<Frontend/>
- Next.js
<Learnings/>
- Designing idempotent payment flows that survive retries and concurrent webhook delivery
- Using distributed locks to make payouts safe under concurrency
- Structuring background work as independently deployable workers rather than one monolithic queue consumer
- Running a mobile release pipeline end-to-end (Expo EAS → App Store Connect / Play Console)
- Making the case for a full framework migration (Flutter → React Native) and owning the tradeoffs that came with it
- Designing a CRM feature (email funnel) end-to-end — UX, schema, backend, and frontend — as a single owner rather than one layer of a larger team effort
